047 — Seek First the Kingdom – All Else Will be Given

Play

Back again in the podcast studio this week, John Paul and I realized how blessed we are to be able to minister the Gospel to our listeners. We also know that you have had a lot of patience with us as life has kept us away from the microphones.

I finally moved into our newly renovated country house. Everyone around me feels like the work has been quick, but I have felt it was a daily grind all the while watching God making progress and blessing the project. John Paul is building a new business, teaching media at a new school and being present to his wife and children. Nonetheless, we want to, we love to do this podcast and keep making a firm assent to be there at least weekly. We hope this is our last lapse in a while.

In this episode we talked about keeping our focus on building the Kingdom. We shared about seeking first the kingdom of God. The best word to describe our sharing is the exploration of a lot of different elements of persistence. If we don’t persist in doing our duty, in building our relationship with Jesus, our spouses, our community, we are not able to trust God for His guidance and power. Often people give up on their marriages, because they can’t be persistent “When it is convenient and when it is inconvenient.” (2 Tim. 4) We need to fulfill our ministry, our marriage vows, our love for the Lord. The scripture calls us to “put up with hardship.” Many of us don’t want to, and human nature urges us not to, “put up” with anything that can be seen as hardship.

Hard times can become foundational for us if we seek first the Kingdom of God. It always amazes me how Jesus gives us “All Else” when we put Him first. Listen in, you will be inspired. Pray for us. We pray for you.

Our scripture for this episode is Matthew 6: 33 -34.

Spread the word! Spread the Gospel!
